Professional Responsibilities: 4hrs.
This course is designed to guide peer recovery specialists in their responsibility to report suspicions of abuse of a child or vulnerable adult according to Florida Statutes. While maintaining confidentiality according to state and federal laws is necessary, Peer recovery specialists must perform all job tasks according to professional, legal and ethical standards. This course includes maintaining documentation as required by agency policy and by state and federal laws and addresses the importance of peer recovery specialists personal stressors, triggers and other indicators that impact ability to perform job duties, while seeking supervision. We will discuss how to provide services that respect the varied identities people have based on race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender and gender identification, religion, spirituality, and mental, emotional, and physical differences in abilities.
